Essay Writing Competition 2022

We’re proud to annouce the winner of our second essay writing competition in collaboration with our partnerBayfield Training. Well done Dylan Francis Mackie from Strathclyde University!

The two runners-up were:

Henry Griffiths, University of Reading

I entered the competition to further my knowledge of the real estate market and the current recommendations needed to improve the sector in the future.

henry griffiths – university of reading, 1st runner up

Patricia Fung, UCL

Being able to take part in The Land Collective’s essay writing competition was a great opportunity for me to develop my commercial awareness, engage critically with the built environment and explore my interest beyond the curriculum. While this year’s essay question encouraged us to reflect on the future of high streets following the pandemic, the competition enabled us to be involved in the broader discussion within the built environment sector.

All of the essay submissions were fantastic and we would like to thank everyone who took the time to enter.

Essay Question

Discuss what can be done to revive high streets and the bricks-and-mortar retail experience to make it more exciting, successful and inclusive for all in a post-pandemic world.
