Founded in 1995, Chancerygate is the UK’s largest urban logistics property developer and investment manager and the only one operating nationwide. The business is dedicated to creating high quality, sustainable spaces and is expanding throughout Europe with offices established in Dublin, Madrid, Lisbon and Berlin to further enable its growth plans.
In the UK, Chancerygate currently has around 2.2m sq ft of urban logistics space under construction or ready for development across 15 sites ranging from Leeds to Croydon. At present in Europe, the company has in excess of 860,000 sq ft of Grade A multi-let urban logistics accommodation under construction or ready for development across five different sites. One is in Ireland, two are in Spain and two in Portugal. The company manages more than £700m of investment assets in the UK and Europe and its investment portfolio comprises more than 540 units totalling around 4.7m sq ft of commercial space.
Chancerygate are looking for a candidate going into their final year at university and will either by studying a real estate degree or similar or with the intention of pursuing a real estate career. They will be passionate about real estate development and committed to making a positive contribution to the company.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Associate Leasing and Development Manager and play a key role across the company covering a broad range of day-to-day activity the development, project and investment departments.
Must be available Monday 22nd June to Friday 10th July and based in the London office.
Role and Responsibilities
Development Management
- Reviewing data room documentation;
- Inspecting potential development opportunities;
- Assisting with the preparation of request to bid documents;
- Attending marketing meetings for existing schemes;
- Updating internal databases with investment and occupational transaction data.
Project Management
- Reviewing technical documentation;
- Attending monthly project meetings on site.
Analysis
- Understanding the basics of a development appraisal;
- Modelling development opportunities with the support of the analyst team;
- Updating live models with costs incurred and analysing impact on returns.
Investment Management
- Carrying our inspections of assets with our property managers JLL;
- Assisting analyst team with ongoing client reporting requirements;
- Join marketing meetings and assist with rolling out branding across all estates;
- Shadowing the team in negotiations and onsite visits/tenant meetings;
- Assisting with organising internal filing structures;
- Understand processes and approvals;
- Business planning/underwriting of potential investments.
Sustainability
- Carrying out analysis of sustainability data
Key Skills and Attributes
- Is in their second year of university, studying for a RICS accredited undergraduate degree in Real Estate Management or has a strong intention of pursuing a real estate career including a studying for a MSc/conversion course;
- Will be able to demonstrate an awareness of the real estate development process and a willingness to learn;
- Will have excellent organisational and time-keeping skills with the ability to multi-task to manage a variety of workstreams;
- Will be confident in engaging and communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to gain relevant information and action requirements;
- Will act with integrity and reliability, and respect confidentiality.
