At The Land Collective, we believe in creating a community built on respect, professionalism, and shared responsibility. Our members come from many backgrounds and experiences, and together we form a network that reflects the future of the built environment — inclusive, thoughtful, and driven by impact.
This Code of Conduct outlines the values and expectations that guide how we work together. It applies to all members, volunteers, mentors, and partners who engage in our programmes, events, and online spaces.
Our Values
1. We are an anti-racist organisation.
We actively challenge discrimination, bias, and exclusion in all forms. We expect everyone involved with The Land Collective to do the same, and to treat others with dignity, fairness, and respect.
2. We treat people with respect.
We listen before we speak, value different perspectives, and maintain professionalism in all interactions, whether online or in person. Disrespectful, aggressive, or exclusionary behaviour will not be tolerated.
3. We hold ourselves to high standards.
Members of The Land Collective represent a community that stands out for its curiosity, integrity, and ambition. We expect members to uphold these qualities, take initiative, and contribute positively to the experience of others.
4. We protect our community.
We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory behaviour. Anyone who engages in such behaviour will be removed from our membership and, where relevant, reported to appropriate authorities or partner organisations.
Professional Conduct
Event and Programme Participation
When you take part in our events or programmes, you represent not only yourself but also our wider community. Be punctual, come prepared, and engage with respect. If you cannot attend an event, please cancel your ticket or contact us as soon as possible so your place can go to another member.
Confidentiality
Many of our sessions involve personal stories, employer interactions, or opportunities not publicly available. Respect confidentiality and do not share information outside of The Land Collective unless you have permission.
No-Show Policy
The Land Collective now has a “no show” policy for all events and programmes.
Our events will always be free. This is central to our values and commitment to access. However, free does not mean without value. Failing to attend without notice affects your peers and the professionals who dedicate their time to supporting you.
Policy Details:
-
Three Strikes: If you sign up to three events and fail to attend without cancelling or notifying us in advance, you will lose access to future events and opportunities (we do check!). We will notify you by email in all instances.
-
One-to-One Sessions: If you do not show up to a one-to-one session with the Founder or a volunteer (such as a recruiter for a mock interview or an employer partner) without notice, you will not be able to rebook.
Please respect people’s time, effort, and the opportunities being created for you. Every session, event, and introduction is designed to help you grow, so engage mindfully and respectfully.
Repeated breaches of this Code of Conduct or the No Show Policy may result in suspension or removal from our membership.
Reporting a Concern
If you experience or witness behaviour that goes against this Code of Conduct, or if you feel uncomfortable in any setting connected to The Land Collective, please reach out through our contact form or email in**@***************ve.com. All reports are treated seriously and handled with discretion.
