Are you aged 16-30 and interested in a career in property or the built environment?

Mentoring Programme

Our Mentoring Programme is designed to give members space to think clearly about their direction, with guidance from professionals who understand the built environment and early career progression within it.

It is open to:

  • Sixth form/college students

  • Those on a gap year
  • University students

  • Graduates
  • Early career professionals with up to two years of experience in the industry

The programme runs for six months. During that time, mentees are matched with an industry professional and meet once per month for up to one hour, either virtually or in person, depending on availability and location.

How the Programme Works

At the start of the programme, you will be asked to set a small number of clear, personal goals. These might relate to:

  • Career direction or decision-making

  • Applications and interview preparation

  • Confidence in professional environments

  • Navigating your first role or early progression

These goals help shape your mentoring conversations and allow us to track progress across the six months. Mentors are not there to tell you what to do or to fast-track opportunities. Their role is to offer perspective, challenge assumptions, and share insight that helps you make better-informed decisions.

What We Expect From Mentees

Mentoring works best when both sides are prepared and engaged.

As a mentee, we ask that you:

  • Treat sessions as professional commitments

  • Arrive on time and ready to engage

  • Communicate clearly and respond to emails or messages in a timely way

  • Come to sessions with questions, reflections, or updates

  • Let us know early if your availability changes

Why This Programme Matters

For many members, mentoring is the first time they have had consistent, structured support from someone inside the industry. Over six months, small conversations often lead to big shifts in confidence, clarity, and decision-making.

If you are willing to show up consistently and take ownership of your development, this programme can be a steady and grounding part of your journey.

Applications for our March 2026 cohort are now closed. Our next cohort will open in August 2026.
