Discover how The Land Collective connects your business with promising young talent (ages 16-19) for impactful work experience placements that make a real difference.
The Land Collective’s Work Experience (WEX) programme helps businesses of all sizes bring fresh perspectives and diverse young talent into their teams.
Through structured placements lasting 5-10 days, we enable employers to offer students invaluable insight into professional environments, often their first encounter with an office setting.
Whether you’re looking to host one or multiple students, we manage the end-to-end process from student preparation to ongoing placement support.
We connect you with bright young students from varied backgrounds, fostering inclusion in your workplace.
Our team prepares each student with essential workplace skills, ensuring they arrive ready to engage and learn.
We handle every step, from student matching to feedback sessions; allowing you to focus on what matters most.
We include a small stipend to cover travel, lunch, and a smart clothing item for each student, making placements accessible and inclusive.
Tell us your business needs and placement goals. We’ll work with you to identify the best match in terms of timing, student profiles, and placement length.
Our team supports students with a tailored preparation session covering office etiquette, communication skills, and an introduction to professional conduct.
We handle all the logistics to match students with your team and manage their onboarding, making the process simple and hassle-free.
We stay connected with students throughout the placement, offering guidance and check-ins. Afterward, we provide you with a summary report and feedback.
Our placements typically last up to five days. We find this length strikes a good balance, long enough for students to gain valuable insight and skills, but manageable for busy companies and staff members. However, you can also host students for 10 days if you wish. The 10 day placements are usually geared towards students above the age of 18.
Selected students go through pre-placement workshops with members of our team, covering workplace etiquette, communication skills, and basic industry knowledge. We also provide them with a stipend for transport and lunch, and smart clothing to help them feel confident and prepared.
We take into account the student’s interests, location, and career aspirations, as well as the company’s area of expertise. Our team carefully reviews applications and matches students to placements that best fit their goals and the host’s available opportunities.
Yes. Hosting a WEX placement involves a fee that covers the student’s stipend, clothing, training, and the administrative support we provide. This ensures students have a positive, supported experience and makes the process simple for host companies.
At the end of the placement, both the student and the host company provide feedback. Students complete a starter and final survey reflecting on their experience, and companies can share insights on the student’s performance. This feedback helps us continually improve the programme and may also inform future recruitment or placement opportunities.
Yes, we can support you in best practices as it relates to safeguarding and risk when young people are on your premises.
