We have partnered with Ellandi, the UK’s leading delivery partner for investing in, transforming and managing retail and town centre environments – to launch their first annual internship programme.
We are looking for two candidates to join Ellandi for an eight-week immersive summer placement. You will be exposed to a wide range of teams and technology to equip you with a strong foundation and understanding of how the commercial property market works in practice.
Ellandi will support you to gain invaluable insight into our industry specialisms, with particular emphasis on our values and ethos within our work.
- Have not had the opportunity to work within the industry and do not have familial connections that could offer them support.
- Have little to no experience within the UK market and are passionate about considering a career in property.
- Motivated to learn and are self-starters.
- Happy to work within a team-based/collaborative environment.
- Effective communicators both written and non-written.
You will be required to choose two or three of the following teams to rotate between for the duration of the programme.
Asset Management: manage over 25 retail-led schemes across the UK with over 90% of them providing essential amenities for their communities. We assess the performance of each asset individually and strive to turn these assets into focal points for their town centres.
You can expect to be involved in reviewing heads of terms, making uncontentious recommendations, cash flow modelling, engaging with stakeholders, undertaking site visits, attending monthly management meetings and assisting in reporting.
Debt: manages the existing NPL portfolio (non-performing loans against retail assets) which involves underwriting and analysis of business plans for assets, liaising with asset managers and borrowers, reviewing funding requirements and lease activities, selling assets and managing returns. They also work closely with the investment team to identify new acquisitions.
A rotation in this team will give you invaluable insight into how debt in real estate is structured and ways to manage the debt and value of distressed assets.
Investment: tasked with finding, assessing, and delivering investment opportunities in the retail real estate sector, with prospective investors. We also work with local authorities and existing owners to deliver the most effective routes to value on various projects.
Finance: work across the portfolio to manage financial reporting for clients. They are responsible for maintaining financial records, cash management and forecasting, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and collaborating with internal teams to provide a high-quality service.
Research & Analytics: underpins the company’s strategic decision-making and works alongside all teams to understand the present and future opportunities of the asset.
You can expect to be involved in the underwriting of assets by providing detailed overviews of the catchment and demographics, analysing competing centres, reviewing the current performance of assets and of individual retailers and you will gain an understanding of how we use our
technology to understand shopper behaviour.
Development: many retail-led assets need transformation, to bring them in line with what their communities need and make them viable investment prospects for the future.
You can expect to use data and imagination to establish plans to improve areas, work on development appraisals and work with architects, planners, project managers and various other stakeholders on our development projects.
